OVA PROJECTS

Dr Chris Hill and Dr Jon Hogg presented the Oral History Project and had a great day with the veterans, listening to their views on the project and enjoying a very constructive focus group.

The Big Ideas project dialled in (after a last minute train cancellation) and showed the veterans a preview of the work that they had been undertaking.

memorial bench

In 2021, we unveiled a bench in memory of Sandie Hern and Jim Cooper. In 2022  we added a plaque to the bench in memory of our founder's dad, James Ronald Owen. This year we added a plaque in memory of Doug Hern who sadly passed away in August 2023. The bench was given a coat of Teak Oil to protect it against the winter weather.

NUKED BLOOD SCANDAL

On the 21st of September, the Nuked Blood Scandal Legal Claim was launched.

With the help of our Volunteers, the event was a great success. Alison, Janet, Sue, Laura & Mark.

Special thanks to Sue for the cakes. Janet  for selling her handmade goods. Laura  for providing the raffle tickets and Quiz trophy. Mark for being our tech support and singing with Marvin.

For everyone who provided a raffle prize, purchased a ticket and donated, we thank you. So many memories were made and we look forward to 2024, which will feature the theme of 'NOSTALGIA'

A very big thank you to the Office for Veterans' Affairs for funding the 2023 and 2024 ATR.
