1984 AUSTRALIA REPORT
On the 9th December 2020, the Advisory Military Sub-Committee denied a request from the British Nuclear Test Veterans for medallic recognition. This was after 2 years of waiting. This decision was devastating to the Atomic community.
LABRATS have always campaigned for a medal for the Veterans, along with various other organisations, veterans, politicians, celebrities and the Daily Mirror, in particular Susie Boniface who has campaigned tirelessly for many years.
The 1984 expert committee review of data on atmospheric fallout arising from the British Nuclear tests in Australia reveals the risk and rigour of the testing program.
The report was completed on 31st May 1984 and presented to the Hon Peter Walsh (Minister for Resources and Energy, this damning report proves that the Veterans deserve a medal.
