Gordon Lowe - Nuclear Test Vetern


My dad was born in Eastleigh, Hampshire his Dad (my grandfather) was a fireman and during the London blitz was deployed to London. Dad joined the Royal Fleet Reserve on 1 February 1951 with his best friend Ray Philpot thru National Sevice, he took on the role as a cook before upgrading to officers chef and they went their separate ways.

Dad served on HMS Duke of York, Ceres, Siskin, Verulam, Gamecock before boarding HMS Narvik on 2nd January 1958. Dad sadly passed away 21st February 2012.
